Social programme

The goal of making parties is to party party! Alternative Party 2009 is filled with social programme designed to suit the most advanced tastes. Following our inspiring theme 'Space' we are proud to present our new line breaking programme we have in addition for everything else:

ALT Space Camp unconference

ALT Party continues to change and innovate. Last year, the smaller stage (named Brainpool) was attempting to compete with the mainstage (or at least their loudspeakers). This year, ALT will experiment with the concept of the Unconference.

Space Dinner

A three-course dinner will be served on Friday 22nd October at 18.00 - right before the opening show at 20.00. Begin your party weekend with your friends and the special guests! Remember to buy your dinner tickets in advance, because they are not available at the party place. The menu, the wines and the digitally creative program has been carefully selected by the Alternative Party's gourmet team to create an extraordinary evening. The dinner is automatically included in the VIP Wing Commander ticket.

Guided tours

What on earth is the Alternative Party? Join the guided tour around the space where we show you the highlights of the festival such as the art and the tech exhibitions. We will also tell you about the history and goals of the event and introduce you to the different areas and activities at the party venue. The tour ends at the bar where we are happy to continue discussions with you. The tours start at the Infodesk on Friday at 20.30 (VIPs only), on Saturday at 14 and 18, and on Sunday at 12.

Brain Fitness Center Opening event for VIP's

Finland's first Brain Fitness Center is open at the Cable Factory in October, from Wednesday 20th to Sunday 24th.
As a VIP guest of the Alternative Party you are welcome to experience it first with other selected guests during the exclusive opening on Tuesday 19th at 19-21.

Workshops

We will have several different kind of workshops during the event for you to find new talents of yourself or just get to know of new things. Do you know how space feels like, or where electricity comes from? Can you send your voice to the space? Join and see for your self.

Speed Meetup

Looking for meeting with new people? We are giving you a chance to meet cool people via speed meetup. Speed meetup is a bit like speeddating but with out the date part. You can join just to meet the interesting people around the globe who all share the common interest - Alternative Party and/or digital culture.

Speed Dating

Looking for meeting up with new people? Looking for the mr/mrs Right? The chance of your life to meet cool people at AltParty; we are giving you a chance to meet new cool people via speeddating. Separate rounds for the ones looking for mr/mrs Right and those who simply just want to meet new cool people (speed meetup).

Family day on Sunday 24th October

Bring your children to enjoy the computers mummy and daddy used when they were young. The family day program is aimed for adults and children between ages 5 and 12. Computers, digital culture and electronics can connect generations from infants to grandparents, so do not let your kids miss all the fun at Alternative Party. We warmly invite all our international guests and our VIPs to the sauna evening on Sunday at 16.
