Hello there!

I would like to introduce myself, I'm Kim "digikim" Viljanen and acting as this year's producer for the event. That means, that I'm basically trying get things such as money, people, ideas and other resources co-ordinated to create the wonderfull thing we know as the Alternative Party! :) Outside Alternative Party, I'm working as a researcher and PhD student at the Helsinki University of Technology.

Your participation is encouraged and even demanded! :)

The preparations for this year began in January 2008, but most of the work started in November 2008 when we finally got the reservation for the Merikaapelihalli at the Cable Factory confirmed. We means both the Alternative Party association and the organisers. Everybody is invited to join the association. Btw, if you are interested in some organizing work, please let me know. (We are also going to publish during this month a recruitment form at this website with information on open positions.)

Alternative Party is about enabling crazy ideas and doing things - especially in the domain of digital culture, such as technology, art and science. There are many possibilities how to implement your idea during Alternative Party, but I would like to promote especially this year's Exhibition and the [ALT] Magazine as forums for your content! If you have ideas that you would like to implement, please don't hesitate to contact me.
