Finnish MP makes a stand in parliament — wears his ALT t-shirt

The recent so called Lex Nokia proceedings have been raising voices in Finland. Basically it is new legislation which offers companies the right to dig into their employees' mailboxes. Quite understandably this has been vehemently opposed by, well, just about everyone. Except for Nokia, of course, and their favourite politicians.
Jyrki J. J. Kasvi, MP, has been a frequent visitor at the Alternative Party. Now politicians have always been at the wrong end of jokes and being slightly and awkwardly corrupt or just plain ignorant doesn't help. Never has this been more obvious than when decisions are made on our digital fates. These are the people who, just as an example, decide DRM is essential for competition and, even worse, that it will actually stop your average teenage angst-filled geek from downloading whatever illegal and psychologically disturbing material they can find. I guess lobbying the policy makers is easier than, say, offering TV shows online at a reasonable price and the minute they come out? These are the folk who end up backtracking and describing as a joke a statement that was basically, "Employers can strip search you if they want, so why not peek into your emails?". Who knows, maybe it was a joke, but one of the dumbest ones I've heard — so hardly proof of a lack of intellectual limitations.
Jyrki, a writer on technology, is one of the rare exceptions. Every time I've met him he's been open, friendly, honest and, well, just a decent kind of guy. Besides, he wears a hat. There's just something about a hat which says, "I have integrity". People who have generously accepted my bribes will agree.
So Lex Nokia is now a reality. Nobody online cheered. However, Jyrki said no. Did it make a difference? Nope. But at least someone bothered. The best? He did it while wearing our [ALT] t-shirt.
And just so people don't think we think everything should be free, why not purchase one of the few remaining [ALT] t-shirts on our online shop? That way you can feel good spending money (remember: apparently saving is bad for the economy) and support something worthwhile as well. Sorry, currently only lady fit t-shirts left. Use them as a hat, if you're a guy (remember what I said).
So just to rephrase one of our old slogans: We stand for everything you don't.
